“I wish (Let Your Voice Sing Out!)” is a song composed and performed by Marden (@dimemarden), created as part of the project “Sounding a Queer Rebellion Sound!: LGBTI Musical Resistances in Latin America” by the Queer Music Protest network. This project brings together academic research and artistic practices grounded in LGBTQI+ community experiences. The initiative is led by ethnomusicologist Fiorella Montero-Díaz ([email protected], Keele University) and musicologist Luis Gabriel Mesa Martínez (@luisgabrielmesa, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana).

This documentary, directed by Juan Diego Muñoz Vélez, presents the initial findings of the research led by Dr. Fiorella Montero-Diaz (Keele University, United Kingdom) and Dr. Luis Gabriel Mesa Martínez (Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Colombia). Their project established, for the first time in Latin America, an academic and artistic network specializing in the study of music as a tool of resistance to defend the rights of LGBTI individuals in the region.
