Marilina Bertoldi
Born in Sunchales, Santa Fe, in 1988, Marilina Bertoldi became one of the most important figures in rock in the last five years. After dissolving her band (Connor Questa), she released three albums with which she built a solid and relevant career in terms of contemporaneity. Beyond music, she became a reference in messages related to gender equality and the rights of the LGBTQ+ community. That, of course, placed her in the eye of the most conservative criticism. “Everything I do all the time will be examined under a magnifying glass,” she says. “That’s why I go for more. I’m already unfazed by whatever is said, it’s become a habit.” Beyond that, Sexo con modelos, Prender un fuego (with which she won the Gardel de Oro in 2019) and Mojigata form part of a key trilogy for the times we live in. Rock once again speaks about the times we live in. This time from a queer perspective.
