Music documentary FIL UNO : VIOLONCHELO SOLO - Contemporary cello music short film
I am a cellist and composer. From my solo project, initially titled "Solo Cello," we scenically diverge from the predictable cisgender role in the academic music sphere, specifically from the orchestra musician, the "cult" cellist in pants or skirt. Simultaneously, I developed with my partner and sound engineer Frank Cebreros the duo "La FF de performance marica," where we portray the duo between two secret agents from a disappeared espionage agency, stranded in Latin America: a neo-Nazi fascist and a Cuban homosexual spy cross-dressed, dedicated to the musical genre "La Nueva Trola"; they don't record, give interviews, or participate in the industry, they simply burst in, play, and "mess things up." My collaborations as a composer in film, visual arts, video art, theater, and dance approach in different ways and according to each project, themes such as queerness, feminism, sound mestizaje, and various aspects.
Dandy-Letanía (Suite "Indios Antropófagos") - Fil Uno
I am a cellist and composer. Starting with my solo project that was initially titled Cello Solo, we distanced ourselves scenically from the cisgender role foreseeable in the field of academic music, specifically of the orchestral, "cultured" musician, cellist in pants or skirts. Simultaneously, with my partner and sound engineer Frank Cebreros, I developed the queer performance duo La FF in which we represent the duo between two secret agents of a defunct spy agency, stranded in Latin America: a neo-Nazi fascist and a dedicated transvestite Cuban homosexual spy. the musical genre "La Nueva Trola", they do not record, they do not give interviews, they do not participate in the industry, they just break in, play and "screw up". My collaborations as a composer in film, plastic arts, video art, theater and dance address queerness, feminism, sound mixing and aspects in different ways and according to each project. From here I took the story of Dandy: a trans girl who flees her hometown at the age of 14, is captured by a trafficker and taken to La Plata in Argentina where she is forced into prostitution and drug sales, contracts HIV, returns to Peru with AIDS, to die The stories in this article perhaps overlapped in my head, perhaps I added other stories like the one about the massacre. of Tarapoto or the murder of Zuleimy (15) in Trujillo... and I wrote this pair of songs, the first: Dandy, which narrates in the first person life, love, self-acceptance, escape, under the following mantra "The world It is for you, Dandy » The second is titled « Litany » and is a song for Dandy's death, to raise his spirit and dignify his departure. These songs were written for the exhibition of the great Iquiteño artist Christian Bendayán « Indios Antropófagos », to be played during the installation. Christian allowed the themes to be freely developed like slopes of a river, so that the music added more stories of the urban jungle, of the vexation of so many coexisting with wonder. I made the music for Dandy with the collaboration of Aristidez and with Zoe Flores as a guest singer. The music of Litanía is performed by the UCP chamber orchestra of Iquitos and the Loreto Choir. It sounded daily for several months in the arsenal of Venice, it remains unpublished and today, as before and after, we believe that it is appropriate to recognize that many people in Peru still do not enjoy the full right to a dignified life, nor to respect or freedom.
