Agnaldo Timóteo

He began his career singing in first-year programs on radios in Caratinga, Governador Valadares, and Belo Horizonte, where he became known as the "Cauby Peixoto of Minas Gerais." He moved to Rio de Janeiro and started working as a driver for singer Ângela Maria. Meanwhile, he continued his career and gradually became nationally known for his voice. Timóteo became famous after recording the song Meu Grito by Roberto Carlos. He then recorded several romantic hits such as Ave-Maria, Mamãe, and Os Verdes Campos De Minha Terra. He recorded more than 50 albums. (source 1)

In 1975, composer and singer Agnaldo Timóteo released, during the military dictatorship, the song A Galeria do Amor / The Gallery of Love, which depicted a venue (the "galería Alaska" in Copacabana), in Rio de Janeiro... "The galería Alaska" was a space for free love, where predominantly homosexuals and bisexuals could express their sexualities. (source 2)
