LGBTI Resistances

Cali, Colombia

Dolores Te Canta

In their music, Dolores not only expresses her roots and personal passions, but also invites her listeners on a journey of self-discovery and emotional liberation. Her lyrics explore life’s path with both frenzy and dreaminess, celebrating the beauty she finds in the flag of love.

This colorful and vibrant flag has inspired Dolores to use gender and sexuality as spaces for reflection and creation, where she blurs the lines between the masculine and feminine, making these values their own skin. Her ongoing and energetic involvement in sociocultural spaces and institutions such as the UN and La Red Comunitaria Trans has established her as one of the most important and influential queer artists and figures in Colombia.

Los tremendos de la Salsa

Ronald Sevillano and Juan David Panameño, who are part of the band Los Tremendos de la Salsa, made their name at the World Latin Dance Cup on a Saturday in 2013 in Miami, USA.

The Colombian youths were one of the nine couples of dancers who classified for the semi-finals in the category ‘man with man’, as some call it, or ‘male same-sex couples,’ as the category is officially termed.
